A Poland-based sports technology startup, ReSpo.Vision, has secured €4.2 million, approximately US$4.5 million, in its latest fundraising round.
The fund was raised to fuel the company’s AI-powered football tracking and visualization solutions.
This was made known by the CEO and Co-founder of ReSpo.Vision, Pawel Osterreicher, on Tuesday saying the software company is using AI to break the barrier of watching football the same way in the 1960s and the contemporary world.
“The way we watch football hasn’t fundamentally changed since the 1960s.
“We’re using AI to break that barrier – putting fans on the pitch, giving broadcasters next-gen storytelling tools, while providing clubs and federations with elite tactical insight,” said Osterreicher.

Why it matters
The US$4.5 million investment attests to the growing interest in AI-powered sports technology and its viability to revolutionize the industry.
The company’s success also highlights Poland’s interest as a hub for technological innovation, with investors recognizing the potential of Polish startups to make a global impact.
How it Works
ReSpo.Vision’s software analyzes standard TV feeds to track more than 50 distinct body points per player in three-dimensional space (3D), generating ultra-realistic, first-person views of match replays.
